Foam composite board fireproof “core” is important

Due to the difference in prices, many people choose to build simple houses with cheap polystyrene and polyurethane as the core material of color steel plates. In this way, fire protection cannot be guaranteed.

It is understood that the core materials of color steel plates currently on the market mainly include polystyrene, polyurethane, rock wool and glass wool, among which the common ones are polystyrene and polyurethane. The color steel plate with polystyrene and polyurethane as the core material has the advantages of light weight, low cost and simple operation, but its fire resistance is very poor, the ignition point is extremely low, and the flame retardancy is poor. Among them, the ignition point of polystyrene is 346°C, which is only a little higher than that of wood; the ignition point of polyurethane is only around 130°C, similar to ordinary paper. Once the color steel plates of these two materials are burned, the spread speed is fast, and the smoke is highly toxic, which can cause the building to collapse in a short time. Compared with color steel plates with polystyrene and polyurethane as core materials, the fire resistance of color steel plates with rock wool and glass wool as core materials is relatively better.
