Characteristics of C-beam and Z-beam

1. Since the inertial distance in the weak axis direction of the Z-type purlin is greater than that of the C-type purlin of the same type, its integrity is better than that of the C-type purlin.

2. Since the connection should be firmly lapped, the purlins that become lapped become uninterrupted purlins, and the C purlins can only be calculated as simple supported purlins.

3. Z-type purlins are smaller than C-type purlins, saving materials and reducing costs, but installation and transportation are more complicated than C-type purlins.

4. C-shaped steel is generally suitable for roofs with gentle slopes, and Z-shaped steel is suitable for roofs with slopes over 1/4.
